When Maithili Sharan Gupta, a famous Hindi poet, wrote years ago:
“Abla Jeevan Hai Teri Yehi Kahani, Aanchal mein hai doodh aur aankhon mein paani”
(What is the life of a helpless woman — tears in her eyes and a suckling child in her lap),
he had portrayed a rather helpless image of women. That was many, many years ago.
While women have since emerged stronger and achieved everything a man could, atrocities against them have not ended — they have only changed shapes. Society is going through turbulent times where the new woman is breaking barriers, questioning the patriarchal mindset, and evolving into a stronger pillar of society — a change that perhaps makes the chauvinist Indian male insecure.
“Offence is the best form of defense” — this may explain why insecure men commit crimes against women.
This Women’s Day, let’s pledge to celebrate every woman who has found her voice and believes that in a healthy social system she must be respected and regarded as an equal, nothing less, nothing more.
Let’s also pledge to give hope and support to every woman who has been victimized because she refused to compromise her values.
A woman is not “Abla” (helpless), but “Sabla” — one with courage and conviction, strong enough to bring about positive change in society.
A haunting visual from the Sabla series — a cry for strength and resilience against fear, silence, and oppression.
A powerful frame from the Sabla series — capturing the weight of silence and the resilience to overcome it.
A poignant Sabla frame — the birdcage becomes a symbol of confinement, yet the spirit remains unbound.
This haunting Sabla portrait captures the duality of pain and defiance — scars that speak of suffering, and raised hands that declare survival and strength.
This Sabla artwork uses dice as a metaphor for women’s struggles — lives gambled, voices silenced, yet resilience holding the power to change destiny.

Eid ki subah hamesha ek nayi roshni, ek nayi umeed aur ek nayi dua lekar aati hai. Namaaz ke baad jab main masjid se nikla, toh Mumbai Police ke doston se mulaqat hui. Unki taraf se ek khubsurat phool mila — sirf ek gulab nahi, balki mohabbat, aman aur ekta ka paighaam. Yeh tasveer usi…

Mumbai — ek sheher jo kabhi rukta nahi. Din ho ya raat, bazaar ho ya samundar ke kinare, har pal yahan ek nayi kahani likhta hai.
The Gateway of India was erected to commemorate the landing of King George V and Queen Mary in India on the 2nd of December, 1911. This iconic monument has recently been given a fresh look. The garden opposite has been cleared, offering tourists more space to move freely and admire the architectural beauty of this landmark. Shooting…
Street photography mere liye hamesha ek journey rahi hai — ek safar jo sirf logon ke chehron tak simit nahi, balki unke jazbaat, unki kahani aur unke sheher ki rooh tak jata hai. Har portrait ek chhoti si kahani hai, ek lamha jo kabhi wapas nahi aata. 2007 se lekar aaj tak main Mumbai aur…
Kuch purani bhooli-bisri yaadein hamesha saath rehti hain … Dongri mere liye wahi jagah hai. Yahin main pala-badha, padha, khela-kuda. Yahin meri school — St. Joseph High School hai, aur uske aas-paas ek mandir, ek masjid aur ek church saath-saath khade hain. Ekta ka asli prateek hai hamari Dongri. From Charnull Chowk to sacred Shree…
