Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Mumbai — A Photographic Journey (2008–2013)

The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is Mumbai’s annual celebration of culture, creativity, and community. From installations and sculptures to performances and public art, it transforms the city’s heritage district into a vibrant canvas. Between 2008 and 2013, I had the opportunity to document the festival through my lens. Each year offered something new — yet the spirit remained timeless.

Here is a glimpse of my journey across those years:

To bring them all together, I also curated a larger collection that spans across multiple years of the festival:

Closing Note

After 2013, I stopped visiting the festival regularly, but the memories and photographs remain. Kala Ghoda is more than an arts festival — it is a reminder that cities breathe, and that creativity has the power to transform ordinary streets into extraordinary experiences. These frames are my tribute to those vibrant years in Mumbai.

“Six years, countless frames — Kala Ghoda, as I saw it, lived it, and captured it.”
