A Drop of Water for Macro — Mobile Photography Hack by Humayunn Peerzaada
Sometimes photography is not about expensive gear, but about simple hacks and curiosity. One such trick I discovered:
👉 Drop a single drop of water on the camera eye of a cell phone.
That’s it. Suddenly, your phone turns into a macro lens.
With this simple technique, one can capture the tiniest details — textures, patterns, and miniature worlds otherwise invisible to the naked eye.
This experiment reminded me once again that photography is about seeing differently. Tools are secondary, passion is primary.

Drop a drop of water on the camera eye of a cell phone and one can shoot macro .. Front facing camera would be the apt choice as it gives you option of viewing and clicking …
so apart from the selfies which we keep clicking .. we have one more option for the ‘front facing camera’ …
Shot the eye of the pic of Gandhiji which is there on the 500 rupee note .. here are the examples
One can go this close with one drop
Two drops can get you this composition
Making:
this is how i shot it …
two drops formation on the camera eye
this is how i shot it …
keep playing around with the size of the drop of water and the composition will amaze you … Happy clicking to all …
Also note: that for phones with camera and ear piece near it is advisable to put a masking tape to avoid water spillage into.
You don’t always need a costly lens. Sometimes, all it takes is a drop of water and a drop of imagination.
