📂 Moving Postcards | Ramzan Food Lane Mumbai
Always wanted to shoot and document Ebrahim Mohd Merchant Road during the holy month of Ramzan. Popularly known as Mohd Ali Road, Food Lane or Khau Galli, this road is not just a Mumbai landmark but one of the most unique food destinations in the world.
Another reason for documenting this was deeply personal — I was born and brought up in this very area, and my roots are here. To the best of my knowledge, Mohd Ali Road has never been captured this extensively during Ramzan, and it gives me immense joy to share it with you all.
During the holy month, these food lanes transform into a paradise of aromas and flavours — probably the only open-air eatery stretch in the world where people from across the globe gather every night to savour mouth-watering non-vegetarian dishes. Small food joints spring up only for this sacred month and vanish with the last night of the 30th Roza. The road itself stretches across four major junctions and 14 traffic signals, but during Ramzan, it turns into one buzzing food carnival.
I’ve kept the film as raw as possible so you can feel the authentic vibe of the place. Watch it in HD for the best experience.
“Happy viewing, and Eid Mubarak to everyone 🌙✨”
